Virtual Urgent Care

Virtual Urgent Care

Saint Francis Healthcare System offers convenient, virtual urgent care services for many health conditions. You can speak to a provider through a secure, interactive video visit on your smartphone, tablet or computer seven days a week. This service is for adults and children ages two and older. Anyone under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by their guardian.

Our provider will provide you with a diagnosis, personalized care plan and prescription, if needed. If additional testing is required – for example, a urinalysis – you may be asked to visit a Saint Francis clinic.

Terms and Conditions

Virtual urgent care visits are offered for your convenience and to save you time by providing care through MyChart.

Should I Use Virtual Urgent Care?

A virtual urgent care visit can replace a clinic appointment or certain Urgent Care visits. You will not need to wait for an appointment or leave the comfort of your home.

Virtual urgent care visits should be used only for non-urgent medical conditions. If you need urgent medical care, please contact your clinic by phone or find a nearby urgent care center. For medical emergencies, call 911 immediately.

What to Expect During a Virtual Urgent Care Visit

After accepting these terms and conditions, you will be prompted through a series of screens to gather information, similar to an in person office visit. After entering all the applicable information and submitting you virtual urgent care, you provider will respond back to you through MyChart. Depending on your condition or reason for visit, it could take you approximately 10-20 minutes to complete these virtual urgent care screens. Please be prepared to fill in all information as you cannot save the information and resume at a later time. If you have not received a response from your provider’s office within 1 business day (weekends and holidays excluded) of submitting your virtual urgent care visit, please contact that office.

Is There a Charge or Cost for Using Virtual Urgent Care?

Just as in person office visits are chargeable services, virtual urgent care visits are as well. During this process you may be asked for demographic and insurance information. Saint Francis will file a claim to your insurance (s), if applicable, and you will receive a statement for any remaining balance owed by you.  If you do not have insurance, you will receive a statement for the uninsured patient cost. If your provider re-directs you to the clinic during the virtual urgent care visit, or if the virtual urgent care visit is not completed, you will not be responsible for any balances related to the virtual urgent care visit.

Some restrictions may apply for non-Missouri residents. Depending on your internet service provider and/or cell phone carrier, some service provider / carrier charges may apply.
